Unlike the other sources where you have to manually install the mod, Steam does this automatically if you use the Steam Client, and you can download simply by clicking the "Subscribe" button on a mods page. The Steam client has a built in means of downloading and installing mods, and is possibly one of the safest means of getting mods. Bear in mind that while some are not perfect, these are still the best places to find mods. Each has a "Danger Rating", this being the likelihood (or lack thereof) of viruses being disguised as mods on these websites. There is a file named "modinfo.txt" containing all the necessary info for the game to pick up and properly display the mod.This is a list of websites where mods are typically posted, and where it is recommended to download mods. There are 4 important elements in the mod folderĪ 180x80. Make sure the name is customized so it doesn't overwrite other mods with the same name. The contents of the mod should be contained into a folder named acordingly. You get a full list of the mods you are subscribed to, including a thumbnail, description and author.
